Goodwill Outlet Tips

If you are a full time eBay seller of clothing, you will want to check out Goodwill Outlets. A Goodwill Outlet is a store that carries as-is items that can't be sold in a regular store. They are mostly sold by weight. You'll find the same things that you would find at a regular Goodwill store – clothes, shoes, linens, housewares, furniture, what knots, books and everything in between – just at a better price. Because of the great prices, it can get CRAZY up in there. Here are a few tips if you are going for the first time:

Be aware of the rules. Some stores don't allow carts down the aisles. Some stores only allow you one cart at a time so you have to purchase that cart full and come back for another. Some stores make you stand back until they get all the new tables rolled out.

Carts are like gold. Go early to get one or follow someone who is taking a cart to their car and offer to take it back for them if there are none in the store.

Take and sanitizer cause it can also get dirty up in there. Wear long sleeves to protect your arms. No jewelry. Dress comfortably. Wear gloves. People have pulled out some nasty stuff. And be careful because you can find broken glass as well.

Dig around. Don't look at surface items only.

If you see something of interest, go ahead and put it in your cart. You can always toss it back if you decide against it. If you're into shoes and only find one shoe, throw it in the cart and BOLO for the other shoe in future bin shifts.

Stand your ground. Some of the shoppers can get ugly. Don't let them bully you. At some bins, other shoppers will even be so bold as to take stuff from your cart. Find a fitted sheet to cover your cart while your back is turned.

Before you leave, recheck the stuff in your cart for duds. Holes in clothes, stains you can’t get out, double check sold on eBay to make sure on things you have doubts.

Wear a fanny pack or keep your money on your body.

Check pockets especially jeans in case there's money in them.
