Poshmark - An Alternative to eBay
If you are fed up with slow sales on eBay, you might want to look into Poshmark. Posh is the leading marketplace to buy and sell fashion. You can switch to Poshmark or sell on both platforms.
Advantages:
You don't have to worry about weight as long as it’s less than 5 pounds. A shipping label is emailed to you. You just have to package the item, slap the label on it and take it to the post office.
Everyone pays for shipping. It's simple. You don't have to decide whether to offer free shipping or charge for shipping because the buyer pays a flat rate shipping charge.
You don't have to make payments. The fees are already taken out of your sales when you sell an item. No worrying about whether the funds will be there when the fees come out.
No returns. Once a buyer purchases an item, it's theirs. They can't decide they don't like the color or fit of an item and return it. The only way you will get an item back is if you did not describe it correctly or you misrepresented it.
Only you can see your lovenotes (feedback) from a buyer. If you get an idiot that leaves a not so nice lovenote, other buyers never see it.
Disadvantages:
Higher end designer items are the most sought after. Poshmark is geared to a younger generation so when you are thrifting, keep that in mind.
It's a very social platform so as long as you put time into it. It's not like eBay where you list an item and then let it sit there. You have to share it in order for people to see your stuff.
You can only sell clothes, shoes, and accessories on Posh.
Posh takes 20% of the sale price.
People like to see things "styled" so you should put extra into your pics and listings. You don't have to but you should.
