Glass Bottle Identification


Glass Bottle Marks - a list of glass manufacturers’ identification marks found on (primarily) American bottles and jars. These marks are sometimes called “punt marks”, especially within the bottle-making trade. Also included are marks seen on other types of glassware including tableware and industrial glass items such as railroad lantern lenses.

The Bottle Depot - Base marks were used by many companies to identify the period of manufacturer and also to identify their bottles. The marks shown here are often associated with South Australian bottles but will also be found on many other items to as produce companies often shopped around for the best price on containers.
