Don't Get Discouraged by Low Ball Offers

I enjoy any offer I get. I love the fact that buyers are looking at items in my store. I might roll my eyes and grumble a little when I see what offer has been made, but I try not to let myself get emotionally involved. Some buyers are hoping you will click the wrong button and accept, or that you have had a glass or two too many and will accept their offer. Be professional and respond with what you are willing to take. Sometimes it becomes a conversation and you can actually come to terms.

Any activity on my item shows eBay that I have desirable items and boosts me up in search. I am happy to counter offer. I don't set my auto decline feature because counter offering gives me a chance to engage with a potential buyer. And to be honest, sometimes, if my sales are slower than normal, I might want to accept a lower offer than I would normally just to get some activity in my store.

I generally counter a few dollars more than I'd accept to give myself some wiggle room because at times buyers will counter offer your counter offer (say that 5 times). I have read that you should leave the offer open at least 24 hours before responding because 99% of the time - the search engine recognizes that this is a sought after item - and you get a better offer than the first one. This would work perfect on a low ball offer but not on an offer you are willing to accept.

Do you accept offers? How do you handle low balling?
