Dating Vintage: Using RN Numbers
When I first came across this resource, I'm thinking, I do not want to 'date' anyone vintage. Then I realized I am! My boyfriend is almost 50. I seriously have crazy thoughts that normally only I get. Anyway, Freshpick Vintage gives you a formula for using RN numbers to figure out what year your item was made. I don't sell much vintage so this is not very useful to me but I wanted to pass it on to you.
Here is the formula:
The RN #: 55749 - 13670 = 42079 Divided by 2635 = 16 (The # of years since the issue date) 1959 + 16 = 1975
